DIFFERENT TYPES OF MEMORIES OF COMPUTER

DIFFERENT TYPES OF MEMORIES OF COMPUTER
Memory is basically characterized by storing up of the information. Since a large amount of data is downloaded, uploaded, saved and has to be maintained also various programs and softwares uses different amount of storage space so memory makes one of the most important part of the computer so it makes the necessity of storing the information and programs in a compressed forms. this has already been discussed in my earlier post in DATA COMPRESSION AND TECHNIQUES. apart from this one must have a quite good knowledge of memory in order too avoid slow working of computer, managing of OS, and getting the maximum efficiency of ones computer. Now computer has got various types of memories but characterizing them on the basis of there build up they can be simply characterized as:-

1.) EXTERNAL MEMORY
2.) INTERNAL MEMORY

INTERNAL MEMORY:-
it is also known as primary memory, main memory or internal memory. it is one of fastest memory of the computer and it is present within a computer. the overall processing is determined by this memory and for processing up of the information all the memory data has to be circulated to it. this memory basically includes:-

1.) RAM (RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY)
2.) ROM ( READ ONLY MEMORY)
3.) CACHE

these all memories constitute the main memory of the computer.

EXTERNAL MEMORY:-
As the name suggest this memory is not present in computer and has been added externally to it. this memory is slower than that of internal memory but has got large amount of storage size.
although the data processing and recalling from this memory takes considerable time. these memories can be classified as:-

1.) MAGNETIC MEMORY
2.) OPTICAL MEMORY

since we will discussing the detail of each type of memory in our later post so i will be considering each of memory types and subtypes, there construction, details and all the necessary information in my later posts YOU CAN SIMPLY CLICK ON THE HYPER LINK TO READ ABOUT THEM till than you can comment and raise questions on this post.
