Enable CD Recording

Enable CD Recording Feature in Windows XP
The built-in CDR features in Windows XP let users perform some quick CD burning tasks like erase a CD-RW or copy files/folders to CD-R without using any software. In order to use these features, the CD Recording feature must be enabled. This page provide information how to enable the recording feature for a CD-R drive in Windows XP.

  • From Desktop, double-click on "My Computer".

  • Right-click on the CD Drive and select "Properties".


    Select the tab "Recording" then select the option "Enable CD recording on this drive" as well as "Fastest" for the write speed.

  • Click "OK".

  • Your CD Drive is now configured with built-in CD Recording feature enabled.
