HIDDEN APPLICATIONS

HIDDEN APPLICATIONS IN WINDOWS XP (MUST KNOW)
       There are some "hidden" applications!...try them out and see what you have missed from Windows XP.
For each of these programs, launch it by: "Start" >> "Run", then type the executable name then press Enter.


1.Program: CLIPBOARD VIEWER (Access contents of Windows Clipboard)
   Executable: START> RUN > clipbrd
When you cut or copy information from a program, it is moved to the Clipboard and remains there until you clear the Clipboard or until you cut or copy another piece of information. The Clipboard window in ClipBook Viewer shows the contents of the Clipboard. You can paste the information from the Clipboard into any file as often as you like. However, the information is only stored on the Clipboard temporarily.


2.Program: Dr.WATSON FOR WINDOWS (Trouble Shooting Tools)
   Executable: START > RUN > drwtsn32

3.Program: DIRECT X DIAGNOSIS (Diagnose DirectX, video & sound Components)
   Excutable: START > RUN > dxdiag



4.Program: PRIVATE CHARACTER EDITOR (Create your own Characters)
   Executable: START > RUN > eudcedit
Using Private Character Editor (PCE), you can create up to 6,400 unique characters (such as special letters and logos) for use in your font library. PCE contains basic tools for creating and editing characters, along with more advanced options.
Using the Select Code dialog box, you can view your entire set of private characters. The Select Code dialog box displays miniature views of all your private characters with their corresponding hexadecimal values.
If you want to create a new private character using an existing character as your model, you can copy the existing character to the Edit grid and then modify it to suit your needs, or you can display the existing character in a Reference window alongside your Edit grid for use as a visual reference. You can use any character from any font that is installed on your computer.

5.Program: IExpress Wizard (Crate Self-extracting / self-installing package)

6. Program: Mcft Synchronization Manager (Synchronize network files to for Off-line work)
  Executable: START > RUN > mobsync


7. Program: Windows Media Player 5.1 (The Basic version of Media Player)
  Executable: START > RUN > myplay32

8.Program: Object Packager (Crate Packages to insert to a file)
  Executable: START > RUN > packager
Object Packager is a tool you can use to create a package that you can insert into a file.
The Object Packager window has two panes. The Appearance pane displays the icon that will represent the package. The Content pane displays the name of the file that contains the information you want to package.
To create a package, you copy the contents of the Appearance and Content panes, and then paste the information into a file. The package appears in the file as an icon.
You can activate a package icon by double-clicking it. When you do, depending on the contents of the package, one of the following will occur:
If the package contains a sound or animation file, the sound or animation will play.
If the package contains a picture, text, or spreadsheet, the program associated with that file type will open and display the information. For example, if the package contains a bitmap that was created in Microsoft Paint, then Paint will open and display the picture.

9.Program: System Monitor (A very useful tool to monitor PC performance)
  Executable: START > RUN > perfmon

10.Program: Network Shared folder wizard (Crate Shared Folders on Network)
    Executable: START > RUN > shrpubw

11. Program: File Signature Verification (verify signature on files)
     Executable:START > RUN > sigverif
    

12.Program: Account Database Security Tool (Warning? this tool might encrypt all user accounts)
    Executable: START > RUN > syskey

13.Program: Driver Verifier Manager (Verify the Device Drivers)
     Executable:START > RUN > verifier
