Copy Firefox passwords to new os Backup firefox password file

All firefox passwords are stored in three files
signons.txt, signons2.txt, key3.db

These files are stored in your firefox profile folder.

In Windows XP firefox profile is at:
c:Documents and SettingsWindowsUsernameApplication DataMozillaFirefoxProfilesprofilename
Copy these three files and save them where ever you want and if you want these passwords in your other os also then just replace these three files.

How to view saved passwords in Mozilla Firefox

How to view saved passwords in Mozilla Firefox
Many times it happens that you store a password in your desktop PC and next time when you need to type that password again to use somewhere else you don’t remember it. Instead of asking for a new password you can simply find out your old password from Firefox. Just follow the steps given below. I will be using the Firefox 4 for this. Same can be done in older versions as well.
  1. Click on the Firefox button (Left-top) .
  2. Select Options -> Options.
  3. An options window will pop up. In this click on security tab and under this click on “Saved Passwords” button.
  4. Find the site name and the username you are looking for using the search box and click on the “Show Passwords” button and you can see the previously stored password.

Use MozBackup to easily backup your Mozilla firefox and thunder bird

Use MozBackup to easily backup your Mozilla firefox and thunder bird
You never know when your PC gets infected or corrupted and you might have to format your system. So it is always good to keep backup of all your important things ready. MozBackup is one of the tools which you can use to create backup of your Mozilla apps e.g. Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, Netscape etc.
Using this freeware you can easily backup your browser data, bookmarks, cookies and  many other things with only few clicks of your mouse and all from a single window. Which makes your task much more easier.
After downloading and installing the software it will scan your PC for all the supported products and list them. Select mozilla firefox from the list and click next. Select the profile you want to create backup for. If you have only one profile then select default and click next. You can select the options from the list which you intend to create backup for.   It also allows you to set a password for the backup created using this software.
This app allows you to backup your Firefox in easiest way. This app is available for Windows operating systems only. You can download this freeware from the link below.

How to get back ‘Save and Quit’ in your Firefox 4
If you have been using the latest Firefox 4 then by now you might have noticed that the ‘Save and Quit’ option is missing when you try to close your Firefox with multiple tabs open. If you are missing this display message just like me then here is a small “how to” to get it back in your FF4. Follow the simple steps below.
  1. Open your Firefox 4.
  2. In the address bar (where you type tipsfromgeek.com) type “about:config” without quotes and press enter.
  3. In the next page it will warn you and ask you to promise that you’ll be careful. Click on the button and go to the next page.
  4. In the next page type browser.showQuitWarning and double click on the filtered entry to change its value to true.
  5. Now click on the close button of your FF4 to see if it is showing you the ‘Save and Quit’ message box and you are done.

Opera 11 Beta Download Now Available Introducing Tab Stacking

Opera 11 Beta Download Now Available Introducing Tab Stacking
After introducing browser extension in Opera 11 Alpha the new Opera 11 Betabuild is out now adding another major functionality labelled "Tab Stacking". The new functionality is basically a tab-grouping feature allowing users to stack their tabs, grouping them by site or by theme reducing clutter making it easier to identify and work with sets of open tabs.

Other new features and improvements in Opera 11 Beta :
  • Mouse gestures - In Opera 11, a new visual interface highlights mouse paths and helps guide the discovery, use and mastery of these powerful shortcuts.
  • The address field now hides unnecessary information and puts the security status of each page front and center. Now, badges explain the security state of the site, giving consumers clear information about the sites they visit.
  • Plug-ins can be set to load on-demand. This can give as much as 30 percent performance improvement.
  • Extensions and Opera Unite applications are updated automatically through Opera’s update mechanism.
  • Even more work has been done to boost browsing speed, particularly for Linux. Opera 11 for Linux is 15 to 20 percent faster on common benchmarks than Opera 10.63.
  • Bookmarks are just a click away thanks to a new bookmarks bar that replaces Opera’s personal bar

Login To Same Site With Multiple Account Using Firefox

LOGIN TO SAME SITE WITH MULTIPLE ACCOUNT USING FIREFOX
Once you may have desired to login to same site with multiple usernames. This time you want to do something nasty, or increase your productivity in a forum. Your basic techie mind will say to open the entire installed browsers and also enable private browsing for each of them.
For example, open Google Chrome, Firefox and Internet explorer all at once and login to the site with different user name from each browser. You’ll be able to use 3 usernames. Again open private browsing and login to the same site with another 3 new usernames. This time you’ll have 6 user logins in same site.
You might be quite familiar with the above trick but the main drawback is – you’ll lose your processing power since 3 browsers are working actively. And this might not be practical to you if you have low system specs.
But with some extension added to Firefox, you can do it all in one browser.Multifox is an extension that allows Firefox to connect to websites using different user names. Simultaneously! For example, if you have multiple Gmail accounts, you can open them all at the same time. Each Firefox window, managed by Multifox, accesses an account without interfering each other.
Let’s have a try to Multifox.
To install Multifox add-on in your Firefox, go to Multifox Homepage and click onInstall Extension button. Be sure that you are browsing from Mozilla Firefox (not Firefox 4 Beta). Multifox is not supported in Firefox 4 Beta versions.
Install it as you do with other Firefox Extensions, for more clarification see the image steps below:

Simply open a page of the “mirrored” website in your browser, and you can browse the site from link to link, as if you were viewing it online. HTTrack can also update an existing mirrored site, and resume interrupted downloads. HTTrack is fully configurable, and has an integrated help system.

It is supposed to download complete Web sites. You give it an URL, and down it goes on, happily downloading every linked URL in that site.

WebReaper

WebReaper is web crawler or spider, which can work its way through a website, downloading pages, pictures and objects that it finds so that they can be viewed locally, without needing to be connected to the internet. The sites can be saved locally as a fully-browsable website which can be viewed with any browser (such as Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, etc), or they can be saved into the Internet Explorer cache and viewed using IE’s offline mode as if the you’d surfed the sites ‘by hand’.

BackStreet Browser

It is a free, powerful offline browser. A high-speed, multi-threading website download and viewing program. By making multiple simultaneous server requests, BackStreet Browser can quickly download entire website or part of a site including HTML, graphics, Java Applets, sound and other user definable files, and saves all the files in your hard drive, either in their native format, or as a compressed ZIP file and view offline.

FIRST BROWSER DEVELOPED BY INDIANS

FIRST BROWSER DEVELOPED BY INDIANS MOZILLA EPIC
Bangalore based startup Hidden Reflex has announced the launch of its browser "Epic", which aims at making Indians all over the world proud.

First Browser with an Indian Origin - Epic
Epic, which also happens to be the first entirely Indian made web browser, is based on the Mozilla platform and comes with quite a bunch of India centric features. We did take it for a short spin and we came out quite happy with it. Before we look at the details, let's look at details about Hidden Reflex, the company behind the browser.

The company was founded by the then U.S. based Engineer Alok Bhardwaj in 2007. However, the company is currently based in Bangalore. They initially had a team of three members and have now grown to quite a bunch of people who are working on two separate products. The first one, Epic, has already been launched. The other one is still in the making.

Let's get back to the Epic browser now. After you install it, the first thing you notice is the bright colours of the browser. Epic is highly customizable and initially comes with a "Peacock" background that isn't too easy on the eyes. Of course you can change your background with any of the zillion ones provided by the browser or choose one of your own. Even at the launch, there are over 1,500 themes available and compatible with Epic. The browser has a host of applications on its sidebar from where you can launch them. These include Twitter, Facebook, and other similar services. Clicking on any of these icons will launch a widget like window on the side of the browser. The bad thing about this is that you can only open one such widget per window.

Epic also comes with anti-virus protection built-in - a first for any browser. It also supports a long list of Indian languages (currently 12) and an India content sidebar that aggregates news headlines, TV to live cricket commentary and other things that matters to us Indians. It also features a bunch of productivity applications that include a free word processor, video sidebar and my Computer Browser.

The Epic browser is now available for download from here

HTTPS everywhere -- Firefox add-on to encrypt web sites
HTTPS Everywhere is a Firefox extension produced as a The Tor Project collaboration between and theElectronic Frontier Foundation . It encrypts your communications with a number of major websites.
Many sites on the web offer some limited support for encryption over HTTPS,
But make it difficult to use. For instance, they may default to unencrypted HTTP, or fill encrypted pages with links that go back to the unencrypted site.
The HTTPS Everywhere extension fixes these problems by rewriting all requests to these sites to HTTPS.
