     Tired of re-typing long error messages just to search the solution for it using google?? Here is the tip to make your life easy. Whenever you get some error just press ctrl+c to copy the error message to your clipboard. Now paste this in the notepad and then select the desired error message and then search in google.


    You can try this now only. Go to run and type any invalid drive name e.g J: and press enter. You will see some error message on your screen. Now pree ctrl+c and then open notepad and press ctrl+v. There you see  the whole error message in the notepad. Now copy the error message part and paste it in your search bar.

         Many times it happens that we download all the pieces in multiple rar files and one of the part is damaged or missing.There is no way to extract all remaining parts without that missing portion. But if it is any media file inside then you can try the trick given below.

     First extract part1.rar. Suppose it is from part1.rar to part9.rar and part6.rar is missing then copy part1.rar and rename it to part6.rar. Now extract the rar files. Your file will be extracted and now you can play the file, it will play part1 again in place of part6 while playing. But if you want to see the remaining portion you have to do this.

     If you feel you no need to use your user name on start up menu screen then follow the steps below to remove your user name on start menu....




Open Registry Editor (Start>Run>regedit) Then Go To :


1. "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer"
2. On The Right, Make A New Entry With Right Click On Your Mouse Then Choose "New DWORD Value"
3. Change The Entry's Name Into NoUserNameInStartMenu, Double Click In The New Entry And Fill The Value Data With 1.
4. Press OK, Exit From The Registry Editor.
5. Restart Your Computer.

TRICK TO REDIRECT ANOTHER WEBSITE
     A simple text file edit makes sites redirect to another. When you type
address in address bar in any browser and enter it then it will display
another web page, for example:- when you type Google.com you will be redirected to yahoo.com

Instructions to do:

1) Go to this directory [c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc], directory may change according to drive used for os installation
2) then hit enter
3) find a file named "hosts"
4) Right click on it and open with word pad.
5) In the last link of the document type the IP* address of yahoo space www.Google.com (Vice versa for other sites)
6) now save it
7) restart the browser if its already running
8) Now try it, It works perfect

To Know IP address of website:


  To find IP address of that website Goto start >>Run >> type cmd
>> enter.    Now you have a new window on desktop On that type this
without qotes "ping www. yahoo.com"
replace yahoo.com with your preferred site and then enter it
   Recover Option: Repeat the first four steps and remove the last line
that you have inserted and save it and restart browser. Now its back to
normal

Now type the desired nameThen Ok.

Change The Value To 40000

If you want to prevent any users to access your computer or network shared drives using My Computer then you can hide the all drives for example C:/, D:/ and save your data from any unknown user. But next time you can turn on the display of these drives using registry editor. Now edit the computer registry to turn off the display of drives, but be careful to work with computer registry.
Follow the given steps to hide computer drives:
  • First click on Start button then type Regedit in Run option.
  • Here locate the location to:
        HKey_Current_User \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows
        \ Current Version \ Policies \ Explorer
  • Here right click on right side of Registry editor panel and add new DWORD then put its value 3FFFFFF.
  • Now close the registry editor and restart your computer after any changes to go into effect.

Here locate the location to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer 
Here in right side panel, right click to create a new DWORD value with the name NoClose. 



Now assign number 1 in value data box and close the registry editor.



Now close the registry editor and restart your computer after any changes to go into effect.
But next time, if you want to enable "Turn Off Computer" button on start menu then simply change the value of data box to 0 or delete NoClose DWORD item.

There are some standard keywords, for example Manufacturer, Model, Line 1, Line 2; you can not change these keywords. Now save this notepad file in c:/windows/system32 folder with file name, OEMINFO.INI.

Now choose your favorite picture to set as logo, using any picture editor resize the picture size approx. 150X150 pixels then save it in c:/windows/system32 folder with file name OEMLOGO.BMP.
Now close the all files and restart your computer after any changes to go into effect. To verify these changes, right click on My Computer and open Properties.

Under General tab, verify the system properties with new settings.

Set it. Poking around in gpedit will reveal a great many interface and system options, but take care -- some may stop your computer behaving as you wish. (Professional Edition only).

How to Format USB Drive with NTFS File System
The advantage of NTFS file system is more security options and fast. Normally USB drivecapacity is very small enough that NTFS is not recommended. But, nowadays USB drives are coming with larger capacity also. So we can format USB drive with NTFS to have more security options.

NTFS enabled USB Drives are write-able only on one PC and becomes read only on all other PCs. Hence, we can read and write on our own PC and transfer files to elsewhere without any fear of virus.

In XP, only FAT and FAT32 file systems are available in format options, use the below steps to format in NTFS File System.

a. Insert USB drive in your PC
b. Goto Device Manager
c. Select Disk Drives and expand
d. Right Click on USB drive and select Properties
e. Goto policies tab and select Optimize for performance and press OK
f. Open My Computer, Click on USB Drive and select Format Opton

Now you can have NTFS option there
